They say, whoever they is, that a picture is worth a thousand words. Well I agree. This past weekend we went to Montgomery so that Joe could compete in #4# along with many other Crossfitters. A few months ago, we decided that the whole P90X here and there along with random running was just not enough to sustain our workout appetite or get the results we wanted. We decided to join Crossfit Embrace and found what we thought would be a great workout program with familiar faces until it became much more.
This particular picture is my favorite of all the events this weekend. It represents Crossfit Embrace the best. In the eyes of the beholder I see more than words. I see an athlete who is determined to push himself across the line and to the next level no matter what challenge is in front of him. He has a goal and he will reach it. No matter what pain he feels he will embrace it and push through. No matter what his body is saying he only hears words of encouragement. He knows that if he gives every ounce of energy and commitment to this wod he will have victory. His fellow Crossfitters know this. We know that he is capable of the goal he has set. We know that we have to reduce his downtime. We know that the more we encourage and push him the better he will do. We know that it's teamwork. When he finishes we will have a sense of accomplishment along with him. We will feel as though we have helped our fellow Crossfitter take it to that next level. This is what Crossfit Embrace is about. A team and a family there to support each other to do the best they can do. Our spirit is contagious. As the time went on in Landon's wod the crowd grew in size and became louder. I notice there are people who aren't even apart of Crossfit Embrace cheering him on screaming, clapping, encouraging, and celebrating with each rep. And that is what it is all about. Pushing people to reach their goals and encouraging them to give it all they have. This picture represents teamwork, motivation, desire, commitment, and determination the best. Although, I was able to witness this same setting in every event with everyone who competed from Crossfit Embrace. We bring something more to the table. We have a group of driven individuals who honestly want to see their fellow Crossfitter do their best and utilize all their talent given by God. I find this spirit not only during the competition but back home where I have the pleasure to workout each day. I can definitely say we are blessed to have such an amazing group.

Maybe Jason and Virginia will allow Carson back in their house next time since he was so rude this past time. Hopefully, he will apologize and be much sweeter to Miss Olivia. Joe and I were both AMAZED by her and how sweet she was. She was such a little joy to be around and just so calm. I think it's a girl thing. I will babysit anytime Virginia!
It's always nice to get together and enjoy dinner with friends! We are blessed to have so many sweet friends in the neighborhood and we enjoy our time together.

A few weeks ago Nana, Leland, Carson, and I went to the zoo! It was the first weekend the weather was warm enough to get outside and truly enjoy it. We did just that! We loaded up and headed to Montgomery for Carson's first zoo experience! The first place we had to go when we got there was the gift shop to buy Carson some type of hat because unfortunately he has his mother's skin. : ) Then it was off to see the animals! He loved taking it all in. He was very observant and noticed the animals at each display. Even the reptiles, yuck. We were able to see a baby monkey up close and hear the lioness roar. Next time I will make sure to carry cash so that he can feed the giraffe. That is the main zoo memory I have as a child and to think I didn't have $2 cash on me. I guess it was good I didn't have it so that Joe can experience it when we go next time. Another part of the trip Carson enjoyed was the train ride. He enjoyed just riding more than anything. There were a few little girls in the back that would scream at the top of their lungs when we went thru the dark tunnels and I was nervous about it scaring Carson. However, he never seemed to really care. Seems like he's already becoming a little tough guy with no worries. It's neat to be on the other side as a parent because you want your child to experience as much as possible but you also want to protect them. The funny thing is I'm still learning so much about Carson and his personality there are many times I assume he will act one way and he does the exact opposite. Getting back to the zoo, it was an enjoyable trip and I can't wait to revisit and bring Joe along! : )
Well as you can tell by the name of the link I'm not that creative when it comes to this kind of stuff. I do have a Marketing degree but I'm more of the seller and perfector vs the creator. So this will be a new experience for me and I hope to learn something new and become more creative so to speak. We shall see how that goes! I've realized as time goes on we become so consumed in our everyday life that it becomes harder to keep in touch. Sure we always have facebook but typically you get the picture and not the story or the summary of what's going on and you still are so far behind. I am making a goal to blog a few times a month on the progress of our family, family events, and experiences that touch our lives. I hope you enjoy!
